G-Nome is a collaborative project between Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica and classical composer/songwriter Brent (Mr.) Goodbar. This project has been underway for many years now with little resolution.
Alan Herrick is the founder of San Francisco experimental music group Nux Vomica and the founder of Auricular Records. For the past 17 years Nux Vomica has utilized sound processing, electronics, found sounds, and aural sculpture to achieve unique and trance like sound environments. Mr. Goodbar is an award winning songwriter, composer, performer, and music instructor hiding out in San Francisco, CA. His recent accomplishments include winning the Highsmith Competition for his orchestral composition "A Long Road to Nowhere" at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and taking first place in the Billboard Songwriting Contest. Mr.Goodbar began as a classically trained piano player, then gradually incorporated rock guitar and jazz chops into his arsenal. Upon moving to the Bay Area to pursue a Master's Degree and to continue his musical education Along the way, he completed a major musical entitled "When A Star Falls", and conducted its premiere. The next project was The Rat Pack, the Musical, which is currently turning the heads of many interested parties in the world of musical theater. Why these two together - one makes music the other makes noise and together something wonderful seems to happen - as mysterious as the genetic code and as magical as the merry elves that inhabit our gardens.

Composer and songwriter Brent Goodbar teams up with Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica to create a suite of uniquely disparate pieces for treated piano. This process was started with two treated pianos which were banged, filled with nails, struck with wood, maimed with steel rods, laden with tacks, and generally abused at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
